Aviation Safety Starts with Tanis Aircraft Engine Preheat Systems

Tanis Aircraft Products is a company of “firsts”.  Since starting our business in 1974, we were the first to develop aircraft engine preheat systems for piston engines, first to offer helicopter preheat, first to offer turbine preheat, and the first to meet the rigorous requirements for FAA Supplemental Type Certification. Staying first means we will continue to be responsive to the changing needs of our customers as technology in the industry evolves. Doing this requires a staff of highly qualified and well trained specialists.

We manufacture all of our own systems at our facility at the Glenwood Municipal Airport in West Central Minnesota. Engineering, Sales, and Administrative Staff is based near the Anoka County Airport a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. These locations provide excellent access to many aircraft for design and testing in real world cold weather conditions.

All of us at Tanis truly care about your aircraft, your safety, and your ability to get to your destination despite the cold weather. We want to thank our long time customers from around the world for their loyalty over the years. If you are new to Tanis you will soon discover that we are friendly, informed, and willing to work with you personally to find the best preheat solution for your aircraft. We think that you will agree that Tanis really is first in preheat. We welcome your call and we are looking forward to hearing from you.

We own two C 172 SPs. They are currently leased to companies in various parts of the US. We had been concerned about engine preheat since acquisition of the aircraft, but had always thought it was something the “big guys” did, because of my military flying experience.

Having chanced upon Tanis Preheat, and after some research into their product line(s), our intent is to have their products installed on our airframes (as you know, a C172 is weight sensitive – but the weight for this product is not an issue.)

Not only are their products well designed and have an outstanding warranty(!) Tanis will make sure the products perform as advertised, and will consider suggestions into future product designs.
